Jonathan's Primary Style reflects dynamic whimsy and  fun, but also exhibits depth with serious subjects. His signature style is unique, yet includes slight variations in technique. Jonathan is also highly adept in other illustrative art styles, (See other Galleries).

Jonathan loves telling rich, visual stories and picture books and graphic novels are among his favorite mediums. He has illustrated multiple picture books, among them Sooner Born, Sooner Bred for the University of Oklahoma, Pistol Pete & Me for Oklahoma State University and Ditch Witch Jack for Ditch Witch.

He is currently illustrating two new picture books, and new comic book stories as well.

It's Character building. Jonathan specializes in the creation of innovative, brand-enhancing  mascots and characters of all types. Characters become iconic brand ambassadors – joyfully connecting to new customers, young and old. 

Surrealistically intriguing, yet not "realism". Relatively real, ​the assorted styles displayed reveal the scope of technique, media and range within Jonathan's palette. It's for real. Sort of. 

Jonathan has illustrated and designed comics, covers, posters and graphic novels for several independent publishers, in many art styles, from "American" style, to cartoon, to manga.  

Most recently, Jonathan fully illustrated the two-thirds (42 pages) and cover of the Luther graphic novel, for Faith Inkubators, a Lutheran curriculum publisher (lutherstudy.com).

Cartoons - Jonathan's Primary Style​ is a more refined "cartoony" style, but he also produces typical cartoons in various styles, from   manga & anime to standard cartoons, in a dynamic range of techniques.

​Games for Kids -  Jonathan's degree in Graphic Design coupled with his illustrative ability culminates in the fun and even challenging games he designs for kids. These range from simple  mazes to complex word solvers, to "edutainment" learning puzzles, and even advertising illustrations for higher ed iPad and iPhone Apps.
